What is BUILD
BUILD was founded in 2002 and is a coalition of international agencies predominantly based in UK that believe in a world where the development of living relationships for mutual benefit between the broadest range of individuals and communities in the North and the South (developing countries) is making a widespread, tangible and unique contribution to global peace, security, justice and prosperity.
Barriers of misunderstanding can only be broken down when we engage can create partnerships and friendships at grassroots level.
BUILD’s goal is to bring these partnerships into the mainstream in the UK to the point that no one can escape life without at some time being touched by an international, cross-cultural partnership whether at school, higher education, through their local authority, town or village, corporate organisations, hospital, social, arts or sports clubs, faith institutions etc.

Build believes: international community-based partnerships make a real difference to the lives and development of people in those communities and ultimately to world peace.
For BUILD these partnerships may include towns and villages, schools, health care institutions, corporate (commercial) organisations, faith-based organisations, diaspora groups, local authorities, sports, social and cultural clubs in UK with partners in mainly Africa, Asia, Caribbean and Latin America but also other parts of the world.
Sustained community partnerships for mutual learning between people across the world based on respect, trust and humility will create:-
- greater understanding, justice and peace
- greater social cohesion in the communities involved
- opportunities to address millennium development goals
